Development of the business system continues with updates to the latest Automotive and Quality standards

This year saw a busy few months for Force Technology readying for the new updates to IATF 16949:2016 Automotive Quality Management and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management systems.

The rigorous business process audits were successfully carried out in January and March 2018 by the British Standards Institute.

The new automotive quality management standard, IATF 16949, was issued in 2016. It is aligned with the Quality Management system ISO 9001:2015. The 2009 version of the ISO/TS 16949 standard was reviewed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF).  The 2016 version of the standard refers to the relevant ISO 9001:2015 requirement and then includes additional / supplementary automotive requirements.

ISO 9001 is the manufacturing industry’s most used quality management system. The 2015 updated and improved version saw a significant increase in focus on risk and manufacturing processes when compared with the previous 2009 version. The updated standard is built around seven quality management principles…customer focus; leadership; engagement of people; process approach; improvement; evidence-based decision making; relationship management.
