Force Technology has made major strides forward in developing its manufacturing and analytical processes to ensure consistency of high performance valve and fuel injection springs.

Using a combination of scanning technology and finite element analysis (FEA) the company can now review the stress profiles of actual parts ensuring optimum fatigue life.

This applies to Beehive shaped Valve Springs used for high performance applications ranging from Supercars to World Rally Cars; and also to Plunger, Delivery Valve and Internal Control Valve springs used in Fuel Injection Common Rail for Marine and Locomotive applications.

Simon Lonsdale Operations Director commented “we are currently working with Lancaster University’s Mechanical Engineering department to further develop the technique, ensuring it becomes part of our standard process for all critical parts. This project leads to a PhD program over 3 year to develop dynamic response of valve springs using non linear FEA, starting in September 2017”
